
The Head of Public Policy leads the External Affairs team at Braven, a national nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding the middle class through career acceleration for college students. This role designs and executes federal, state, and local policy strategies to shape the college-to-career field while managing key relationships with government agencies, legislators, and advocacy coalitions. Key responsibilities include developing legislative agendas, drafting policy memoranda, overseeing lobbying contracts, and mentoring a policy associate director. The position offers the opportunity to drive meaningful social impact by influencing education and workforce development systems. The role requires an in-person hybrid arrangement with three days in the office at one of five designated hubs, including Washington DC, Chicago, or New York, along with occasional travel for advocacy events.
