As the Assistant Director for the Beacon Community Centers, you will play a pivotal role in administering school-based programs at P.S. 269 in East Flatbush, I.S. 271 in Ocean Hill-Brownsville, and I.S. 166 in East New York. These centers are run in partnership with other community organizations to provide education, recreation, cultural activities, health information, youth leadership, and social services to students, families, and neighborhood residents.
In this part-time capacity, you will partner with the Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery to the more than 4,000 people served annually. Your day will involve coordinating staff activities, setting performance targets aligned with contract requirements, and conducting client progress reviews. You will also support professional development through training opportunities and assist in analyzing program data to drive improvements. This role requires adapting to the unique culture and environment of a public school while maintaining strong relationships with peers, funders, and outside agencies.
Candidates must be able to obtain Department of Health and Department of Education fingerprinting, a doctor's note certifying good health, proof of negative TB test results, and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance. Successful applicants must maintain these clearances throughout the duration of employment.
