The Electric Engineering business unit at PG&E is dedicated to maintaining the reliability and safety of the state's energy infrastructure. Within this unit, the Compliance & Risk team serves as a critical strategic partner, ensuring that all operations adhere to rigorous regulatory standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data integrity.
As a Compliance & Risk Consultant, Expert, you will serve as a strategic leader and subject matter expert, driving excellence in regulatory data response and quality control processes. This unique position flexes between Support Desk and Quality Control functions, allowing you to champion enterprise-level initiatives while advising leadership on complex compliance matters.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced process improvements, leveraging methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to drive efficiency and accuracy. Your day-to-day involves overseeing complex data request reviews, developing governance tools and quality metrics, and conducting root cause analyses to present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership. Beyond technical execution, you will mentor team members and build capability across the organization, ensuring PG&E meets its regulatory obligations with accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing process improvements (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar). Audit or Assurance background, including experience performing or overseeing audits, control testing, QC reviews, or validation activities. Ability to identify systemic gaps and translate findings into corrective actions. Ability to assess low vs. medium/high-risk scenarios and adjust controls accordingly. Deep familiarity with CPUC/OEIS requirements and PG&E compliance frameworks. Strong understanding of confidentiality protocols, approvals, records management, and lifecycle governance. Experience partnering with engineering, IT, or data teams to build or improve tools. Experience partnering with visual management/reporting teams (e.g., VM&IS) to define data models, logging rules, and refresh cadences. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and compliance tracking tools (e.g., DRU Tracker/Power Apps, RMA). ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA). ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA). Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt. Certified Data Management Professional. Project Management Professional.
