The Electric Transmission Design Engineering team delivers comprehensive civil and electrical engineering solutions for PG&E's transmission system. We provide end-to-end design support for both overhead and underground transmission facilities, playing a critical role in ensuring system reliability, safety, and long-term performance across California.
As a Supervising Engineer, you will lead a team responsible for delivering high-quality transmission design and engineering work, both internally and through external engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners. This position is pivotal in managing the scope, schedule, budget, and quality for all assigned design activities.
You will build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with EPC and engineering-only contractors to support mutually beneficial performance. A key part of your day involves developing and tracking key performance indicators, including design cycle time, quality metrics, cost performance, and schedule adherence. You will also engage with stakeholders across construction, maintenance, and operations to gather feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and strengthen cross-functional alignment. Additionally, you will drive employee development and training initiatives to foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
To be successful in this role, you must reside within PG&E's service territory. This position operates under a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility while maintaining strong team collaboration.
Candidates selected for this role will be evaluated based on their technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and alignment with PG&E's safety and operational standards. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals who can effectively manage complex engineering projects and lead diverse teams.
