About the Opportunity

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, located in Fort Pierce near Vero Beach, is a 380-bed acute care facility offering a full range of services. It is the only provider of a Level II trauma center and Level III NICU in the area, featuring seven labor/delivery/recovery suites and an on-site board-certified neonatologist available 24/7. The hospital has received numerous recognitions from Healthgrades, including Five-Star Awards for vaginal delivery, C-section delivery, and hysterectomy, as well as the 2018 Patient Safety Excellence Award™.

Fort Pierce, known as the "Sunrise City," has been the hub of St. Lucie County for over 100 years. Situated on Florida's Treasure Coast, the city offers a diverse, welcoming community with a surprisingly low cost of living. The downtown area, named one of the most idyllic and historic main streets in America by USA Today, retains old Florida charm with period Spanish architecture and swaying palm trees. The historic waterfront features contemporary shopping, dining, a Saturday farmers market, and entertainment at the 1,200-seat Sunrise Theatre. About the Role

OBHG OB/GYN Hospitalists are in-house experts dedicated to handling any obstetric emergency, dramatically improving patient safety and satisfaction. This role involves working collaboratively with local obstetricians to ensure that every pregnant woman presenting to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician at all times. We are seeking OB/GYNs with exceptional clinical and communication skills, a passion for healthcare quality improvement, and a desire to shape the future of the specialty.

A typical day includes caring for all pregnant women presenting emergently, cultivating relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel, and supporting private practice physicians by providing coverage and assistance. The role also involves caring for unassigned patients, evaluating and treating triage patients, providing consultation to the ED, monitoring labor, delivering babies, performing surgery and surgical assists, evaluating and treating postpartum patients, and providing nurse support and education.
