The Policy Intern role is a full-time, ten-week summer position within the ACLU of New Jersey's Policy Department, based in Newark with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The intern will collaborate with Policy and Legal teams to research civil rights issues, interview policy leaders, and analyze legislative proposals affecting reproductive freedom, economic justice, and immigrants' rights. Key responsibilities include developing policy recommendations and participating in advocacy meetings with community partners and government officials. This opportunity appeals to motivated students seeking to contribute to systemic change and racial justice within a non-partisan organization dedicated to defending liberty and equity. The role offers a chance to engage in cutting-edge civil liberties work while supporting the organization's mission to build a fairer society for all New Jersey residents.
