About the Role

This position is based at St Marys Hospital in Superior and operates on an evening rotation schedule. The role is designed to support the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries across patients of all ages. Depending on the specific level (MLT or MLS), the position involves performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels as defined by CLIA.

Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) will exhibit problem-solving skills for complex situations, participate in Quality Assurance and Control monitoring, handle instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, and perform specimen processing and phlebotomy duties. Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) will take on a more advanced scope, interpreting and correlating test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge. MLS professionals may also be required to participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation.

Hiring Process

Candidates must hold the appropriate degree and certification as outlined in the qualifications. For both MLT and MLS roles, certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or an equivalent certification is required within one year from the date of hire.
