
This seasonal summer role places a minor aged 15 to 17 within the Activities department at Petersburg Medical Center to introduce them to healthcare operations. The intern assists the Activities Coordinator by planning and leading individual and group recreational events that encourage social interaction and maintain resident independence. Key duties include maintaining daily activity records, providing one-on-one engagement for residents unable to join groups, and helping organize special facility events. The position offers a unique opportunity to learn about hospital workflows and systems while contributing to community wellness. It is a paid, part-time arrangement running from June through August, designed to provide early career exposure with potential for future growth within the organization.
