This postdoctoral role within the Alabama Water Institute supports collaborative research between the U.S. Geological Survey and the University of Alabama to study water, soil, and sediment dynamics. The position involves conducting advanced experiments using recirculating flumes and velocity measurement systems, alongside developing numerical models to analyze hydrologic processes. Key responsibilities include collecting and processing complex environmental datasets, preparing technical manuscripts, and contributing to national water monitoring programs. The opportunity is appealing for its access to a national hub for hydrologic instrumentation, the chance to work alongside USGS scientists and faculty, and the professional development gained through seminars and workshops. The role is based on-site at the Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility with a standard Monday through Friday schedule.
