
This full-time role serves as a Fisheries Field Operations Coordinator within the Southeast Fisheries Science Center, supporting sustainable harvesting research and environmental compliance. The position involves coordinating field research activities, collecting biological data, and performing statistical analyses to produce scientific reports and publications. Key responsibilities include training commercial fishers on gear best practices, managing database development, and participating in domestic and international outreach missions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to NOAA's mission of sustainable fisheries management while engaging with diverse stakeholders and government agencies. Candidates will work from the Pascagoula, Mississippi laboratory with approximately 25 to 35 percent travel required for field operations and scientific meetings.
