About the Role

We are currently seeking Flex Security Officers for the Toledo, Ohio area to join our team on an on-call, as-needed basis. This role is crucial to our operational and financial success, providing trained, competent support when shifts open up due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. By filling these gaps, Flex Officers enable Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers while protecting the work-life balance of our permanent personnel.

As a Flex Officer, you will be trained at various posts and facilities based on operational needs. While you may work at a specific location for several weeks, this will not be a permanent assignment. Your schedule, including shifts, days off, and hours per week, will vary based on the needs of the business. You will be offered shifts as they become available; some will be scheduled in advance, while others may require short-notice call-ins to cover for unavailable staff.

In this position, you will act quickly and efficiently according to Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). You will be expected to mentally analyze situations, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure. The role requires the ability to work independently, stand or walk for extended periods, and communicate information clearly in both written and verbal forms.

Hiring Process & Expectations

We are hiring immediately for this position. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions. For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Consistently refusing more than 20% of offered shifts may negatively impact your employment status.
