We also collect critical data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline. We are currently seeking a Fisheries Field Operations Coordinator to support the Southeast Fisheries Science Center's Fisheries Assessment, Technology & Engineering Program.
This position serves as the bridge between scientific inquiry and field execution, providing essential coordination support for fisheries research programs focused on fishing gear technology, ecosystem impacts, and sustainable harvesting practices. The role integrates field research, data management, stakeholder engagement, and technical reporting to directly support NOAA's mission of sustainable fisheries management.\n As the coordinator, you will lead project and field activities for Harvesting Unit research, making real-time decisions in the field while ensuring data integrity. Your day-to-day involves collecting biological and fisheries data, performing statistical analyses, and preparing technical summaries and scientific publications. Beyond the lab and the water, you will act as a key liaison, delivering outreach and training sessions for commercial fishers on federally required gear and best practices.
