In the lab, you will process crab, fish, and zooplankton specimens collected during annual Bering Sea surveys, performing tasks ranging from inventory and measurement to complex chemical extractions and lipid analysis. In the field, you will participate in ocean-going research surveys aboard NOAA research vessels, assisting with zooplankton, biological, and physical oceanography operations as directed by the chief scientist.
This full-time position is based at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, OR. The role requires significant travel, including field survey deployments each summer from 2027–2030.
