The Training Specialist serves as a cornerstone of the Chief Seattle Club's mission to foster a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment for all staff. This role is dedicated to cultivating core competencies that directly impact the well-being of vulnerable populations, ensuring that every team member is equipped with the tools to practice de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and low-barrier housing principles.
In this pivotal position, you will coordinate and deliver targeted training programs that reflect the organization's commitment to cultural humility and community care. Your day-to-day involves partnering with managers and program leads to assess training needs, creating responsive content, and facilitating sessions on critical topics such as workplace conduct, emergency protocols, and maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
A unique aspect of this role is the integration of Native cultural knowledge and community-informed practices into the learning experience. You will manage the learning management system (LMS), track compliance records for audits, and provide logistical support for both internal and external training initiatives. By leading onboarding and ongoing professional development, you help drive the organization's culture of empathy, safety, and respect.
Candidates are encouraged to apply with a resume and cover letter detailing their experience in training or education support, particularly within nonprofit or social service settings. The selection process typically includes a review of qualifications, followed by interviews focused on instructional design capabilities and cultural competency.
The Chief Seattle Club is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We actively encourage applications from individuals with experience working with Native American and Alaska Native populations.
