About Urban Peak
Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver providing a full convergence of services for youth ages 12 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our mission is to meet youth where they are, offering the assistance and support needed to achieve self-sufficiency or access the necessary services to exit life on the streets.
We operate a 136-bed shelter, daytime drop-in services, supportive housing, and comprehensive case management. Our programs are founded on the principles of trauma-informed care and Positive Youth Development, creating a safe community for all youth regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, class, educational background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability status.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDocument all client services, intakes, and case notes accurately in Salesforce
- check_circleFacilitate family mediations and restorative conversations for minor clients
- check_circleManage a caseload of up to 30 youth clients through weekly sessions to review progress and provide accountability
- check_circleConduct youth intakes, assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans and goals
- check_circleProvide crisis intervention, de-escalation support, and phone counseling for high-acuity clients
- check_circleCoordinate with families and legal guardians to support reunification efforts for minor clients
- check_circleSupervise the shelter milieu during shifts to ensure physical and emotional safety of youth
- check_circleGuide youth in daily chores and maintain cleanliness of the living environment
- check_circleAssist youth in securing stable housing and facilitate applications for neighborhood and housing programs
- check_circleCollaborate with external agencies and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive service needs
Requirements
- verifiedMaster's degree in social work, psychology, or child development AND 4 years treatment-oriented or case management experience; OR Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, human services, or related fields AND 5 years experience working with children/youth; OR 6+ consecutive years full-time experience with homeless or runaway youth
- verifiedClinical license (LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or license eligible, or Addiction Counselor Certification (CAC) preferred
- verifiedMust be insurable as a driver on Urban Peak's auto liability policy
- verifiedAbility to pass federal and state background checks
- verifiedAbility to pass pre-employment TB Screening and pre-employment physical examination
- verifiedProof of education (HS Diploma OR Official Transcripts)
- verifiedComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- verifiedExperience with Salesforce
Nice to Have
Clinical license or license eligible (LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or Addiction Counselor Certification (CAC). Ability to use a second language in written and verbal communication (Spanish, Vietnamese, ASL). Lived experience reflective of the youth served.
