As a Grade 3 Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the development of young learners, helping them acquire the subject matter and skills necessary to become mature, able, and responsible individuals. Your mission is to foster a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, tailored to the maturity and interests of your students, while guiding them toward achieving specific curriculum goals.
In this position, you will be the architect of the daily learning experience. You will plan comprehensive programs of study that address the individual needs, interests, and abilities of each student. By employing a variety of instructional techniques and media, you will ensure that learning is accessible and engaging. Beyond academics, you will establish clear objectives for lessons and projects, encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of behavior. You will also work collaboratively with teacher aides and volunteers to maximize the educational impact of every day.
A key part of your day involves assessing student accomplishments, diagnosing learning abilities, and providing regular progress reports. You will serve as a bridge between the school and home, making yourself available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside of instructional hours when necessary. You will also be a champion of district initiatives, specifically supporting the CORE Literacy program and the "Working on the Works" (WOW) initiative.
Candidates must possess a certificate, license, or other legal credential, along with a degree in their area of major study. While specific prior job experience is required, the Board reserves the right to accept appropriate alternatives to these qualifications. Interested applicants should submit their credentials for review by the Board or the superintendent, who will designate the reporting line for this position.
We strive to implement the district's philosophy of education through instruction and action. We are dedicated to maintaining professional competence among our staff and ensuring that all policies governing student life and conduct are implemented fairly and justly. We value accuracy and compliance, requiring teachers to maintain complete and correct records as mandated by law and district policy.
This position is part of a school district that values diversity and inclusion. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all students, taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Performance evaluations will be conducted in accordance with the Board's policy on the evaluation of personnel.
