This position serves as a vital link in the district's educational mission, assisting and supporting the building principal to ensure the on-site administration and execution of educational programs, policies, and regulations. The role is dedicated to delivering quality instruction for all students within a safe and healthy environment.
The day-to-day focus involves developing and implementing lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while reflecting accommodations for diverse student learning styles. Teachers are expected to present subject matter in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations. A key aspect of the role is establishing efficient classroom management procedures and maintaining high standards of pupil behavior.
Beyond instruction, the role requires a variety of planned learning experiences using diverse media and methods to motivate students. The position involves identifying pupil needs and cooperating with professional staff to resolve health, attitude, and learning problems. Teachers are also expected to be available for counseling with students and parents, share responsibility in interpreting educational programs to the community through activities like open houses and PTA meetings, and plan the work of aides and paraprofessionals.
This is a campus-based position where regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is an essential job duty; remote work or alternate work arrangements are not an option. The work environment typically features a moderate noise level. Travel throughout the district is integral to the role. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift or move up to 10 pounds, with specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision.
