About the Role
As a Shift Lead at Walgreens, you serve as the operational backbone of the store, stepping in to manage daily activities in the absence of store management. You will be the face of the store, ensuring that every interaction with customers and patients is positive, respectful, and efficient.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on service. You will open and close the store, managing all necessary system startups and cash handling procedures while ensuring the sales floor and stockroom are prepared for business. Beyond the mechanics of opening and closing, you will model and share customer service best practices with your team, from proactive greeting to resolving issues until satisfaction is achieved. You act as a liaison between management and the team, communicating tasks and reporting on store status when leadership is not present.
In this position, you will also play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the store's operations. This includes overseeing inventory accuracy, assisting with vendor deliveries, managing pricing and signage, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. You will support the team in maintaining a clean, orderly environment and adhere to strict safety and security protocols, such as bag checks and proper food separation.
