About the Role
As a Key Holder, you serve as a vital extension of store management, stepping in to open and close the store, manage cash handling systems, and ensure the sales floor and stockroom are fully prepared for the business day. You are responsible for the operational integrity of the store, acting as a liaison between management and the team when leadership is absent. This role is designed for individuals who can model a distinctive and delightful customer experience while maintaining the highest standards of store operations, inventory accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Day in the Life
Your day begins with opening the store, including system startups and securing the back door for vendor deliveries. Throughout the shift, you engage with customers and patients, offering assistance, resolving issues, and sharing customer service best practices with the team. You will manage complex cash transactions, including refunds, cash drops, and register balancing, while ensuring all sales are accurately registered.
Beyond customer interaction, you play a key role in store operations by assisting with vendor ordering, reviewing order exceptions, and evaluating product displays. You will maintain accurate inventory counts, manage pricing and signage, and ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco. Additionally, you will support the team in maintaining a clean and orderly environment, handling food safety protocols, and assisting with pharmacy window duties as needed.
