The Member Service Representative II and Lead (MSR II/L) serves as a vital frontline partner in ensuring efficient branch operations for SHCU and SHFCU. Reporting to the MS Supervisor, Assistant Branch Manager, or Branch Manager, this role is designed to support branch teams and guide fellow Members Service Representatives (MSRs) in the absence of management. The position exists to deliver the highest level of customer service while maintaining the integrity of daily branch transactions and fostering strong member relationships.
In this role, you will be the face of the credit union, initiating conversations to identify member needs and providing excellent service across a wide range of deposit products, including IRAs, certificates, and money market accounts. Your day involves processing complex transactions, resolving account issues, and balancing daily settlements with precision. Beyond routine operations, you will actively promote credit union products, refer members to loan departments, and support branch growth goals. You will also play a key role in maintaining security and internal controls, identifying potential fraud, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as the Bank Secrecy Act.
As a Lead, you will also assist in opening and closing the branch, supporting business development activities, and stepping in to cover translational needs when necessary. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and may involve travel to cover other branches.

Formerly known as the Self-Help Web Center, the Self-Help Resource Center (SHRC) is a student-run help desk located on the 6th floor of the Circuit Court of Cook County at the Richard J. Daley Center. The SHRC is designed to serve as a starting point for pro-se litigants who must navigate an unfamiliar and complex court system on their own. The SHRC has computer workstations that provide self-represented litigants of all technical skill levels access to user-friendly legal information from Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO). ILAO provides information about various legal issues and the court's procedural requirements. Student volunteers from Chicago-Kent are available to help self-represented litigants use the computers and answer questions about forms and the court. Please note that the SHRC does not provide legal advice or representation.
