Under the direct supervision of a licensed care practitioner, the Patient Care Assistant II serves as a vital support to physicians, nurses, and families in the delivery of patient care. This role applies age-appropriate and developmental approaches to clinical care, ensuring a supportive environment for patients and their loved ones.
The position plays a critical role in the clinical unit's workflow, assisting the patient care team with emergency calls, clinical communications, and admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Patient Care Assistants II are expected to respond to emergency codes by initiating appropriate protocols and utilizing vital resources. Additionally, the role involves preparing and maintaining accurate patient medical records, including the discharge process, and compiling reports in a timely and precise manner.
