The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a key support member of the nursing team, reporting directly to the Nurse Manager and working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This multi-skilled role is designed to facilitate a patient-centered care model, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support throughout their stay.
In this position, you will be an integral part of the daily rhythm of the unit. Your day involves performing a variety of clinical and supportive activities tailored to the needs of trauma and burn patients. Whether you are assisting with patient transfers, monitoring vital signs, or providing comfort care, your work directly contributes to the safety and well-being of those we serve. The role requires adaptability, as you will be working rotating 12-hour shifts that include weekends and holidays, ensuring 24/7 coverage for our patients.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. For the Patient Care Technician II level, additional requirements include an Associate or Bachelor's degree, relevant healthcare experience, active nursing school enrollment, or specific certifications such as CNA or CMA. All successful candidates must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within two weeks of hire, maintaining current certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
