ConnectLife helps people help others. As a federally designated not-for-profit organ procurement organization and community blood bank, we save and enhance lives through organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation. Our mission drives every action we take to support donors, recipient families, and the medical community.
The Clinical Donation Coordinator serves as a vital link in the organ donation process, responsible for the evaluation and management of suitable organ donors and the placement of all recovered organs in strict accordance with ConnectLife policies. This role is designed for a dedicated professional who thrives in a high-stakes environment, ensuring that every potential donation is honored with the utmost care and efficiency.
In this position, you will develop and maintain active relationships with assigned hospitals, guiding the initiation and completion of the donation process from the initial referral through recovery. You will be the face of ConnectLife at the hospital, providing education to clinical and administrative staff while coordinating with donor families to facilitate the authorization process. Your work ensures that medical and legal requirements are met, maximizing donor potential and honoring the generosity of those who choose to give.
This is an exempt position with a unique 14-day work cycle within a 6-week schedule (8:30 AM to 8:30 AM). The role requires a 24-hour call commitment on working days. When not on hospital rounds or actively managing a case, you will have the flexibility to perform administrative duties from home. Local travel between hospitals is a necessary component of the job, requiring a valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive review of their clinical background and experience in emergency or critical care. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals who demonstrate the critical thinking, emotional resilience, and communication skills necessary to support families during their most difficult moments.
ConnectLife is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
