Lad Lake is a non-profit social service agency headquartered in Dousman, WI, with a history spanning over 175 years dedicated to supporting youth and families. The organization serves more than 1,100 young people annually through three primary program areas: out-of-home care including residential and crisis stabilization services, education and academic support, and outpatient therapy alongside community-based resources. These offerings specifically address the needs of exploited girls, foster youth, and those requiring mental health intervention.
Operating as a critical component of the local child welfare system, Lad Lake focuses on trauma-informed, evidence-based practices designed to foster healing. The majority of the youth served come from families in crisis, with many experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder or severe anxiety. The agency provides safety, individualized therapy, and skill-building to help these individuals navigate challenges and achieve independence.
For eight generations, the organization has adapted its approach to meet evolving community needs. By prioritizing proven programs that strengthen family bonds and connect youth to resources, Lad Lake aims to provide a second chance at life. The agency's work cultivates stability and self-reliance, ensuring that vulnerable children receive the support necessary to succeed.
