Achieving Better Coping Skills LLC is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk and orphaned children. Based in Tempe, Arizona, we operate as more than a traditional group home; we are a life skills and independent living training program designed to help young men succeed. Our philosophy is simple: "If one fails, we all fail. But, success is the only story we are focused on."
Our mission is to empower youth to create and achieve their own goals and aspirations. Whether their interests lie in photography, music, sports, or the Armed Forces, our "Big Brothers" provide the guidance and support necessary to turn those aspirations into reality. We believe in experiencing these goals while living here, rather than just talking about them.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a supportive community where you can reap the rewards of helping young men navigate their journey to adulthood. You will provide professional-level assistance and support services for youth between the ages of 9 and 18+.
Your day-to-day impact will involve ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth through active supervision, behavior management, and crisis intervention. You will assist with transportation needs using company or approved personal vehicles, maintain detailed records of youth activities and progress toward treatment goals, and facilitate recreational and social activities. A key part of this role is applying knowledge of mental health symptomatology, medication interactions, and violence prevention to create a safe environment where every young person can thrive.
To join our team, candidates must meet specific safety and legal requirements, including a valid Arizona State Driver's License, a clean driving record for the past three years, and a Department of Public Safety fingerprint background check. Additional requirements include certification in CPR and First Aid, a negative tuberculin test, a physical exam, and a drug screening. Fluency in English is required to comprehend and communicate effectively.
We offer competitive compensation, a great work environment, and significant career advancement opportunities. This role is available as full-time or part-time work, with a flexible schedule including weekdays and weekends as needed.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, focusing on those who share our passion for youth development and community support. By joining Achieving Better Coping Skills LLC, you become part of a family dedicated to the belief that success is the only story we are focused on.
