The Family Advocate serves as a vital bridge between families and the Early Childhood program, dedicated to fostering strong partnerships that support children from birth to 48 months. In this role, you will drive the Parent, Family, & Community Engagement (PFCE) component, ensuring that every family receives high-quality service delivery aligned with local, state, and federal Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Your work goes beyond administrative tasks; it is about building strengths-based relationships with families to help them identify resources, set goals, and navigate their journey toward school readiness. You will manage a caseload of families, facilitating their participation in program governance and assisting them with critical transitions into 3K and Pre-K. Whether through home visits, community outreach, or direct service coordination, you will ensure that families feel supported, heard, and empowered to advocate for their own needs.
As part of the Grand St. Settlement Early Childhood Program, you will join a team committed to the holistic development of young children and their families in Brooklyn. The Family & Community Partnership team works collaboratively with the center director, classroom staff, and community partners to integrate family partnership goals with classroom efforts. Your contributions directly impact the program's ability to maintain high enrollment and ensure compliance with the Head Start Act, creating a stable and nurturing environment for the community.
