As a Cashier at Walgreens, you are the face of our brand, responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will be the first point of contact for customers, engaging them with courtesy, friendliness, and efficiency while they shop. Your role goes beyond processing transactions; you are expected to share customer service best practices with your team, ensuring that every interaction reflects our core service traits, such as proactively offering help and servicing customers until they are satisfied.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of customer interaction and operational support. You will greet customers, assist them with products and services, and resolve any issues to ensure a positive experience. A significant part of your responsibilities includes operating the cash register to process sales, voids, returns, and exchanges accurately. You will also recommend items and trade-up opportunities to enhance the customer's purchase.
Beyond the register, you will maintain the store's visual appeal by keeping counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and properly stocked. This includes constructing displays, completing resets, and ensuring proper product placement, such as separating raw and pre-cooked foods. You will also support the photo area by providing digital passport services and assisting with web pick-up orders. Additionally, you play a key role in asset protection and compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
To join our team, you must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. While we prefer candidates with six months of retail experience and prior Walgreens work experience, we are committed to finding the right fit for our culture.
