As a Cashier at Walgreens, you are the face of our brand, responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers, engaging with them warmly to ensure their visit is positive from start to finish. Your role extends beyond processing transactions; you are a problem solver who resolves customer issues, answers questions, and proactively offers assistance with products and services.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of customer interaction and operational support. You will greet customers with courtesy and efficiency, registering sales on assigned cash registers while handling complex transactions like voids, returns, rain checks, and exchanges. Beyond the register, you will recommend items and trade-up opportunities to enhance the customer's purchase. You will maintain a clean and well-merchandised environment by keeping counters and shelves tidy, constructing displays, and managing inventory.
You will also serve as a guardian of store operations, implementing asset protection procedures and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. Your responsibilities may extend to the photo area, assisting with digital passport photos and promotional products, as well as managing web pick-up orders for customers arriving at the store. Additionally, you will help maintain the store's appearance by assisting with exterior and interior maintenance tasks.
To join our team, you must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours. While we prefer candidates with six months of retail experience and prior Walgreens work experience, we are committed to finding the right fit for our diverse team.
