As a Clinical Specialty Coordinator, you will oversee daily workflow within a specialized department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while managing human resources, equipment, and supplies. This role serves as a critical bridge between clinical operations and strategic goals, aligning departmental activities with the Independence Health System mission, vision, and values.
You will lead a diverse team including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, technicians, and unit clerks. Your day involves monitoring patient care quality, conducting rounds to assess patient status, and ensuring compliance with the PA Nurse Practice Act and hospital protocols. Beyond clinical oversight, you will drive process improvements, manage departmental budgets, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
Your leadership extends to the entire care continuum. You will participate in root cause analyses for recurring issues, recommend annual process improvements, and ensure staff are equipped with the necessary competencies through ongoing training and orientation. You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to resolve medical treatment issues and coordinate patient education. Additionally, you will manage revenue cycle aspects, including doctor preference cards and supply chain coordination, while maintaining a safe environment that adheres to strict infection control and safety guidelines.
