This position serves as a vital maintenance resource for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department, ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of city facilities and equipment. The role is designed for a versatile technician who can operate under general supervision while exercising independent judgment on how and when to complete tasks. You will be the go-to expert for everything from plumbing and electrical repairs to event setup and heavy equipment operation.
The work environment is dynamic and outdoors, requiring adaptability to variable weather conditions and the physical stamina to perform manual tasks. A significant aspect of this role involves leading and directing crews, including seasonal personnel, to successfully execute city tournaments, cycling events, and special gatherings. You will not only maintain the infrastructure but also ensure the seamless operation of events that serve the community.
This is an onsite position where physical presence is essential to perform all essential job functions. The role requires a flexible schedule that includes evening, weekend, and on-call shifts to meet the operational needs of the department and respond to emergencies or tight deadlines.
