As a Recruitment Specialist at Dillard University, you will serve as the primary bridge between our institution and the communities we serve. Your mission is to cultivate lasting relationships with high school principals, counselors, students, parents, alumni chapters, and community colleges to drive enrollment of a diverse, high-quality entering class. This role is vital for executing our Enrollment and Recruitment Plan, ensuring that prospective students receive accurate information about admission requirements, financial aid, and campus life while we process their credentials and applications.
You will be the face of Dillard University at college fairs, area receptions, and campus tours, delivering compelling presentations that motivate students to pursue higher education. Beyond direct recruitment, you will collaborate with the Office of Financial Aid, Alumni Affairs, and Academic Affairs to host events like FAFSA completion workshops and alumni training sessions. Your work ensures that the spirit of cooperation and the university's commitment to excellence in education, diversity, and social service are reflected in every interaction.
Your day involves strategic travel to assigned territories to visit schools and attend events, followed by diligent follow-up with students and families via phone, email, and scheduled appointments. You will manage data entry for prospective inquiries, generate routine reports on recruitment projections and program effectiveness, and conduct cost analyses for events. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to developing and executing special projects, such as Preview Weekends, Summer Send-Offs, and Decision Day activities, to maximize enrollment yield.
Team members will also take on secondary responsibilities tailored to specific areas such as community engagement, media and communication, pre-collegiate programs, diversity outreach, or re-engagement and retention efforts. Success in this role requires the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed and to travel extensively by car and airplane.
Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated on their ability to perform essential job duties, including making oral presentations and communicating effectively with diverse groups. The process involves assessing qualifications such as a Bachelor's degree, analytical writing skills, and the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with school administrators and staff.
Dillard University is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and are dedicated to the diversity of our student body.
