About the Role
BioSciences at Rice is home to undergraduate and doctoral degree programs in Biochemistry & Cell Biology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, investigating fundamental properties of living organisms and their impact on the future quality of life on earth.
The Post-Award Specialist serves as a critical liaison between departmental faculty and Research Accounting. This role provides deep, independent analytical and financial management for post-award research administration. You will support the Department of BioSciences with research accounting, grant and fund future spending projections, and reporting. Beyond research grants, you will manage accounts for faculty monies, University funds, and gift funds.
In this position, you will ensure compliance with sponsoring agencies, awards, and university policies for assigned faculty grants, funds, subs, and contracts. You will prepare various projections and financial reports for departmental faculty, the Departmental Chair, Executive Administrator, and the Accounting Manager, presenting these analyses to meet with these parties regularly.
