We are currently seeking a Plant Operator to support our government customer in Washington, DC. In this role, you will be the backbone of a sophisticated automated wastewater pretreatment plant, responsible for its daily operations. Your primary mission is to ensure all equipment runs properly and that liquid chemical levels remain within strict tolerance.
You will work under the direct supervision of a Shift Supervisor, receiving work directives and schedules from the Plant Manager. The position requires a rotational schedule covering both day and night shifts. Your day-to-day involves monitoring and operating pumps, motors, mixers, tanks, filter presses, and PLC/SCADA control equipment. You will also utilize Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software located in the plant office and on-site computers to manage operations. This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and carry 50lb bags of chemicals up stairs and climb ladders.
