Our transmission field services team is the backbone of grid modernization and system resiliency, ensuring that power flows safely and reliably across our service territory.

About the Role

The Vice President of Transmission Field Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the company's transmission line, substation, and relay/protection field services. This role is critical to enabling grid modernization, system resiliency, and customer reliability objectives. You will ensure operational excellence through strong safety leadership, execution discipline, regulatory compliance, and financial stewardship.

In this position, you will partner closely with Transmission Engineering, Asset Management, System Operations, Supply Chain, Vegetation Management, and Regulatory leadership. You will provide direction on transmission operations matters for the organization and in pertinent forums outside AEP. Your day-to-day involves developing and coordinating the Transmission Field Services safety program, managing emergency response and contractor activities, and driving workforce development initiatives across a geographically dispersed, 24/7 operational environment.
