At PetVet Care Centers, our mission is to improve the lives of animals and people by providing exceptional and compassionate care at every stage. We deliver the Ultimate Care Experience—every pet, every client, every time—rooted in a Culture of Care that supports our team members as much as the pets and clients we serve.
With more than 420 locally led hospitals and over 11,000 team members nationwide, we offer a unique blend of local autonomy and national support. Our model is built on partnership and collaboration, empowering each hospital to deliver high-quality care while benefiting from shared resources and a strong professional community. Whether you are providing care in a hospital or supporting operations, PetVet is a place where you can grow your career and make a meaningful impact.
Rancho Village Veterinary Hospital in La Mesa, California, is looking for an experienced team member to join our amazing hospital. Established in 1981 as a one-veterinarian practice, we have expanded to include three full-time veterinarians on our team. We have been treating the pets of East San Diego County for over 40 years.
What sets Rancho Village apart is our extended availability, offering full hours of operation on weekdays in addition to our comprehensive weekday services, ensuring that pets get the care they need when they need it most.
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will support our veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks. You will be the face of our hospital, greeting patients and their owners, taking vital signs, and triaging patients. Your day will involve performing physical exams, administering medications, and assisting with patient restraint, all while calming and soothing anxious animals.
You will also handle laboratory tests, radiographs, and the operation of hospital equipment. A key part of your role is maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, from sanitizing surgery suites to caring for overnight patients. You will communicate positively with clients, educating them on wellness plans and ensuring they feel comfortable leaving their pets in our care. Your presence is essential to our team, as you help us uphold our commitment to providing quality care for all patients.
