Banfield Pet Hospitals is dedicated to delivering quality care to every pet while fostering a culture of excellence and community. As part of the Mars family of companies, we are guided by five core principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom. Our mission is to ensure that every pet receives consistent, safe, and patient-centered care across our network of hospitals.
The Area Chief of Staff serves as a vital leader and mentor for associate veterinarians, driving the culture and delivery of quality care within assigned hospitals. This role is a unique hybrid of clinical practice and management, designed to ensure that doctors are supported, engaged, and successful in delivering high-quality medicine.
In this position, you will partner with Practice Managers to lead the veterinary provider team (DVM, CVT, VA), ensuring alignment with our six domains of quality: safe, effective, patient/client centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care. You will act as the Responsible Veterinarian for necessary permits and manage controlled substance inventory, while also validating clinical skills through medical record reviews and audits.
A significant portion of your time will be spent in the hospital, providing direct veterinary services to patients. The balance between clinical duties and leadership responsibilities will be tailored to the specific needs of the hospitals you oversee. You will champion a "say yes" culture, ensuring access to care and superior client service, while also overseeing the coaching program for newly hired veterinarians to help them master Banfield's quality standards and workflows.
Banfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status. We strive to create an environment where every associate feels supported, valued, and empowered to shape their future.
