About the Role
As a Chief of Staff at Banfield Pet Hospital, you will serve as the operational and clinical anchor for our veterinary team. This unique hybrid role is designed to ensure the highest quality of veterinary care while driving exceptional client service and hospital productivity. You will advocate for pets and their quality of life, building long-term bonds with clients and fostering a collaborative environment where the human-pet connection thrives.
In this position, you will partner closely with the Practice Manager to lead an effective medical team, ensuring a safe and engaging hospital environment. The role balances approximately 20-30% leadership duties—such as team development, operational planning, and culture building—with 70-80% hands-on veterinary practice. You will be responsible for mentoring Associate Veterinarians, optimizing hospital workflows, and ensuring that every interaction reflects the Banfield brand of world-class care.

Requirements
- verifiedDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
- verifiedVeterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure
- verifiedTwo years clinical experience
- verified1-3 years coaching and developing associate doctors
- verifiedState-controlled substance and federal DEA license within 3 months
- verifiedUSDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service accreditation within 3 months
