The Urology Technician serves as a vital support member within our urology department, bridging the gap between clinical expertise and patient education. Through didactic training and supervised practice, you will acquire the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to perform urinary catheterizations, tube irrigations, and ultrasonic bladder scans. A key part of your mission involves reinforcing home-going education, empowering patients with the confidence to manage self-catheterization and drainage tube care independently.
You will be the responsive face of our urology team, managing calls across both inpatient and ambulatory settings at our St. Marys and downtown/Methodist campuses. Your day is dynamic, moving from patient to patient with a mobile supply cart in tow. Success in this role requires the ability to work independently while adapting to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume. You will apply aseptic techniques and basic computer skills to ensure seamless care delivery in a fast-paced environment.
This position is part of our dedicated female team, fostering a supportive environment where specialized care is delivered with compassion and precision. We value individuals who bring a hospital medical background and a commitment to continuous learning.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive orientation program. If you do not currently hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, this certification will be provided and integrated into your onboarding. Maintaining current BLS certification is a requirement for the position.
