This position serves as a vital support to Registered Nurses and providers, delivering routine patient care within a pediatric network. The role is designed to ensure high-quality service standards while maintaining strict adherence to Universal Precautions and established clinical protocols. As a key member of the care team, you will bridge the gap between patient needs and provider directives, facilitating smooth clinical workflows across multiple locations.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of clinical support and patient education. You will perform essential nursing care functions such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor surgical procedures by positioning patients and managing sterile instruments. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to patient interaction, including reinforcing self-care procedures, reviewing instruction sheets, and orienting patients to system policies.
You will also handle critical logistical tasks, such as setting up treatment rooms, preparing medical equipment, and collecting specimens for testing. The role requires vigilance in recognizing and responding to acute emergency situations while ensuring patient safety at all times. Additionally, you will manage administrative duties like charting in medical records, initiating diagnostic forms, and relaying medical information between physicians, pharmacies, and patients.
This role is based in San Marcos but includes a floating component to other pediatric sites in the North, including Carlsbad, Oceanside, Escondido, and Rancho Bernardo. The position operates within a collaborative environment where cultural sensitivity and effective communication with the public are paramount. Weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts are required to meet the needs of the patient population.
We are committed to providing superior and culturally sensitive service to our members, customers, and vendors. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and strive to maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace.
