This position serves as a vital support to Registered Nurses and providers, delivering routine patient care within a structured clinical environment. The role is designed to bridge the gap between administrative coordination and direct patient interaction, ensuring that care delivery adheres to strict quality standards and safety protocols.
In this capacity, you will function under the direct supervision of licensed medical professionals. Your day-to-day activities involve a blend of clinical support and patient education. You will be responsible for performing essential nursing care functions such as taking vital signs, managing wound care (including cleaning and irrigation), and assisting with minor procedures like catheter insertions and NG tube lavage. A significant portion of the role involves preparing treatment rooms for examinations and surgeries, ensuring all sterile instruments and equipment are properly set up and maintained.
Beyond clinical tasks, you will act as a key communicator for patients. This includes orienting patients to system policies, reviewing instruction sheets, and relaying critical medical information between physicians and patients. You will also assist licensed providers during examinations and minor surgical procedures by positioning patients, holding instruments, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The role requires a high degree of attention to detail, particularly when collecting specimens, performing basic lab tests, and maintaining accurate medical records.
This role is based primarily in the Clairemont Mesa location, with the flexibility to float to other Central locations as needed. The position operates on a part-time schedule, typically ranging from 20 to 32 hours per week, and includes rotating weekend shifts. Success in this role requires the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare setting while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when responding to acute emergency situations.
