Advocate Health is the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, formed by the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the system serves nearly 6 million patients across 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations. As a national leader in clinical innovation and value-based care, Advocate Health is recognized for expertise in cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, and rehabilitation. The organization is deeply committed to providing equitable care for all, contributing more than $6 billion in annual community benefits.
Located at the Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Medical Center, this Unit Secretary position operates within the Emergency Department under the direction of the Clinical Manager, Charge Nurse, Staff RN, or LPN. The role is pivotal in facilitating indirect patient care by serving as a central communication hub for patients, families, departmental staff, and medical teams.
In this capacity, you will manage the flow of information and administrative logistics essential to the unit's operations. Your day will involve preparing and compiling medical records, ordering and stocking basic office supplies, and ensuring the department runs smoothly. Flexibility is key; you will be expected to float to other units as needs arise and work cooperatively with staff supporting adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Beyond daily duties, you will actively participate in performance improvement activities to help elevate the quality of care.
Advocate Health offers a comprehensive suite of Total Rewards designed to support your life both at and away from work. Compensation is competitive and includes a base salary within the listed range, premium pay for shifts or on-call duties, and opportunities for annual increases based on performance. The benefits package is robust, featuring paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. We also provide family benefits such as adoption assistance and paid parental leave, alongside defined contribution retirement plans with employer matching and an Educational Assistance Program.
