Join the Inpatient Rehab unit at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. This specialized team serves patients recovering from injuries or illnesses, focusing on therapies that help them regain independence and maintain life at home. Because patients stay on this unit for a longer duration, caregivers have the unique opportunity to build deep, meaningful relationships with those they support.
As a Patient Care Technician, you will function as a vital clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures under the direction of licensed professionals. Your day-to-day involves prioritizing and delivering basic patient care, including hygiene, ambulation, and comfort measures, while ensuring excellent customer service for patients and families. You will also monitor patient conditions, report changes promptly, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care plans are implemented.
In addition to clinical duties, you may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator. This includes answering phones, transcribing physician orders, managing unit records, and maintaining unit supplies. You will work in a dynamic environment with variable shifts (days, evenings, swings, nights, weekends, and holidays) as a PRN (as-needed) employee, often earning shift differential pay for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
