Pennsylvania Hospital is seeking a Unit Clerk to join the 7 Cathcart Team. This is a full-time, night shift opportunity. The 7-Cathcart/7-Preston unit is a 60-bed medical-surgical floor caring for a variety of post-operative surgical patients and those with neurological conditions. The staff provide direct care and education to patients following upper and lower joint repairs and replacements, neurosurgical procedures ranging from laminectomies and fusions to deep brain stimulator insertions in Parkinson's Disease patients, bariatric surgery, and patients recently experiencing a stroke.
The unit clerk is an integral member of the patient care team who delivers quality care through collaboration and communication with team members. Working under the direct supervision of the nurse manager and the registered nurse, this role supports the clerical and secretarial operations of the patient care unit. The position emphasizes the integration of clerical activities, health information record processing, hospitality and receptionist activities, and business service functions. It incorporates organizational competencies of superior quality care and assumes responsibility and accountability for role performance outcomes while supporting PAH's Relationship Based Care Model.
