As the first point of contact for patients, you play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information. This position serves as the initial touchpoint for patient billing, handling the switchboard, and routing calls with professionalism. You will be an integral part of our disaster response procedures, ensuring safety and continuity during critical moments.
Your day involves conducting patient interviews to gather accurate data for inpatient, surgical, emergency room, and outpatient services. You will provide patient estimates, explain benefits, and assist with payments via welcome devices or personal devices. Beyond administrative tasks, you will verify insurance requirements, obtain necessary authorizations, and manage document scanning within our EPIC system. You will also prioritize workflows to minimize patient wait times, coordinate direct admit and transfer calls, and serve as a preceptor or mentor to new team members.

You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with multiple simultaneous stimuli, including alarms, call bells, and overhead pages.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalency. Experience in customer service and communication is required, with a preference for prior experience as a registration receptionist. Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and computer systems is beneficial.
