Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference every day. As a Diagnostic Ultrasound professional at DMC Harper, you will perform exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment under general supervision. Your role involves verifying patient identity, reviewing medical records, and interviewing patients to obtain or update medical history while assessing risk factors.
You will explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives. After setting up equipment and acquiring images, you will review them, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to the radiologist. The role also requires recognizing and responding to medical emergencies, providing post-care instructions, and participating in process improvement activities such as quality of care and patient satisfaction initiatives. Additionally, you will provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees, and may be required to take call or standby as needed.
