This position is located at UCHealth Women's Care Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. As a Sonographer, you will perform sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, aligning with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
You will serve as a vital link in patient care, reviewing patient history and physician orders while educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation. Within your scope of practice, you may prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications. Your role requires critical thinking and decisive judgment to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, preparing equipment and supplies, and selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. You will implement safety standards, perform quality control procedures, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. You will position patients, perform imaging procedures, analyze results to identify quality issues, and take appropriate action to resolve them, such as re-positioning patients or repeating procedures. You will also enter, transmit, and report scan results, and may collaborate with Radiology students.
