Turn Team Member

About the Role

Student housing turns are high-intensity periods lasting 10 to 21 days, where hundreds of students move out just as a new cohort prepares to move in. This temporary, seasonal position is designed to support the community during these critical windows, ensuring units are ready for new residents and grounds remain welcoming.

As a Turn Team Member, you will be assigned daily lists of areas or units requiring attention. Your day-to-day work is dynamic and hands-on, ranging from assisting with unit trash-outs and groundskeeping to supporting maintenance teams with HVAC projects and furniture assembly. You may also find yourself helping residents on move-in day, ensuring their transition is as smooth as possible.

Work Environment & Safety

This role requires working in varied environments, including office spaces, outdoor grounds, and residential units. While specific tasks vary, the work often involves physical activity such as lifting, carrying, and maneuvering supplies up to 20 pounds, as well as operating tools like allen wrenches for furniture assembly.

Safety is a priority. All necessary equipment will be provided by the onsite manager. Team members are expected to stay hydrated, especially when working outdoors, and use proper safety gear such as gloves and hats to protect against the elements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Resident Interaction

When assisting with move-ins or working in occupied units, professionalism is key. You will interact directly with residents and their families, requiring a friendly and respectful demeanor at all times. Occupied bedrooms will only be entered when accompanied by an on-site team member. Any incidents or complaints should be reported immediately to the Community Manager.
