About the Facility

Advocate Southeast is a 247-bed Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The facility is a recognized Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center, with its Congenital Cardiology program ranked #7 by US News & World Report.

The specific unit, the LCH Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CMC Main), consists of 20 beds arranged in two mirrored sides with a centralized nursing station. The unit cares for a very high-acuity pediatric population (ages 0–18), including patients recovering from congenital heart surgery, those awaiting or recovering from transplants, and those requiring advanced life support such as ECMO, Impella, and ventricular assist devices.

About the Role

Talent4Health is seeking a Travel RN for the Pediatric CVICU to support this critical care team. This role involves managing complex patient cases with varying acuity ratios (ranging from 1:1 to 2:1) and utilizing advanced technologies including EPIC, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitors. Nurses in this unit are expected to be proficient with fresh open-heart post-op patients, transplant care, and renal replacement therapies.

The position requires flexibility, including rotating shifts (days and nights), weekend rotations (every other weekend), and holiday coverage (75% of holidays). Travelers may also be required to float to the PICU, NICU, or General Pediatrics as needed. The unit operates on a 6-week schedule cycle with variable shift times.
