About the Role

We are seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) assignment at a prestigious Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital. This facility is renowned for its Congenital Cardiology program, ranked #7 by U.S. News & World Report.

You will join a high-acuity team caring for a diverse pediatric population (ages 0–18) with complex congenital heart conditions. The unit features a 20-bed CVICU split into two mirrored sections, designed to place the most critical patients closest to the centralized nurses station. Your day-to-day will involve managing post-surgical care, pre/post-transplant management, and support for advanced devices including VADs, ECMO, Impella, and Aquadex renal replacement therapy.

This is a night shift role (1830–0630) working 36 hours per week. You will care for patients with varying acuity ratios (ranging from 1:1 to 2:1) and may be required to float to the PICU, NICU, or General Pediatrics as needed. The unit is supported by a robust team including 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, Cardiology, and Intensivist coverage, alongside dedicated Health Care Techs and Unit Secretaries.

To be considered for this assignment, candidates must be located more than 50 miles from the facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least one year. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

The selection process requires the submission of an active NC or compact RN license, current BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications, and a professional reference dated within the past year. Additionally, the last 4 digits of your SSN and full date of birth are required for consideration.
