About the Role
As a Traffic Control Flagger II, you will be the frontline guardian of safety at construction sites, road maintenance areas, and other work zones. Your primary mission is to direct the flow of traffic to ensure the safety of both workers and the public. You will set up and take down traffic control signs, cones, and barricades, using hand signals, stop/slow paddles, and two-way radios to communicate effectively with motorists and guide them safely through or around the work area.
This role is dynamic and requires you to work outdoors in various weather conditions. You will be responsible for driving company vehicles to transport equipment to and from job sites, performing routine vehicle inspections, and maintaining clear communication with team members. The position demands reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to stand for extended periods while managing traffic in a moderate to loud environment.
Hiring Process
Candidates must successfully complete the ATSSA Flagger training course and company-sponsored Defensive Driver training. The selection process includes a background check (including motor vehicle records), a drug test, and verification of federal DOT requirements.
